 Writing Activity: “Describe a Person and an Experience”

Structure 

Paragraph 1: Describe a person

You can describe:

  • a friend
  • family member
  • teacher
  • celebrity

Include:

  • personality
  • emotions
  • behaviour

Guide questions:

  • Who is this person?
  • What is he/she like?
  • Why do you like this person?
  • What makes this person interesting/funny/kind?

Paragraph 2: Describe an experience with that person

Include:

  • where
  • when
  • what happened
  • feelings

You can use:

excited / exciting

bored / boring

relaxed / relaxing

surprised / surprising

Example:

My best friend is Laura. She is very funny and friendly. She always helps other people and she never gets angry. I like talking to her because she is very interesting.

Last month, we went to a concert together. The music was exciting and the atmosphere was amazing. I felt very happy and relaxed. After the concert, we ate hamburgers and talked for a long time.
